Introduction

GB/T 22344—2018 Standard Overview

This standard replaces the previous GB/T 22344—2008. The main updates include the addition of the classification of embossed strapping tapes, the standardization of terms and test methods, and the addition of new inspection rules.

1. Scope of the standard

Applicable to polyester strapping tapes for packaging produced with polyester (PET) as the main raw material, and specifies the terms, classification, technical requirements and test methods.

2. Classification and marking

The products are divided into machine strapping tapes (J) and hand tool strapping tapes (S) according to their use, and are divided into Grade I and Grade II according to the tensile breaking stress. The surface features are divided into embossed belt (Y) and smooth belt (G), and the specific classification is as follows:

Classification dimension Category Code Technical requirements
Purpose Machine belt J Suitable for automated machinery
Belt for hand tools S Suitable for manual operation

3. Technical requirements

Key indicators: Tensile breaking stress, breaking strain and minimum load.

For specifications, please refer to the table below. The allowable deviation of width is ±0.8mm, and the allowable deviation of thickness is ±0.06mm:

Specification code Nominal width (mm) Nominal thickness (mm) Minimum tensile load at break (N)
090060 9.0 0.60 2110 (Grade I) / 1890 (Grade II)
160080 16.0 0.80 5000 (Grade I) / 4480 (Grade II)

4. Mechanical properties test method

The test needs to be carried out under standard conditions, with a tensile speed of 100±10mm/min. The sample cut length is determined according to the gauge length, and the breaking load reading is rounded to ten digits.

5. Inspection rules

Sampling plan:Each batch of products shall be sampled and inspected in accordance with GB/T 2828.1, and the sample size shall be determined according to the batch size.

Actual case analysis

For example, a batch of 500 rolls of products needs to be randomly selected for inspection with 8 rolls. If the number of unqualified products in appearance exceeds the acceptance number, the entire batch shall be deemed unqualified.
