本标准规定了中华人民共和国县级及县级以上行政区划代码，还规定了行政区划名称的字母缩写代码。本标准适用于对县级及县级以上行政区划进行标识、信息处理和数据交换等过程。对于县级以下的行政区划，GB/T 10114《县以下行政区划代码编制规则》可作为本标准的补充和延拓，与本标准配合使用。

Scope

This standard specifies the codes of administrative divisions at and above the county level of the People's Republic of China, and also specifies the abbreviation codes for the names of administrative divisions. This standard applies to the processes of identification, information processing and data exchange of administrative divisions at and above the county level. For administrative divisions below the county level, GB/T10114 "Rules for Compilation of Codes for Administrative Divisions Below the County" can be used as a supplement and extension of this standard and used in conjunction with this standard.
