Introduction
Background of Standard Revision and Technological Evolution
GB/T 22649-2019 replaces the 2008 version of the standard. The main technical changes are: Heavy metal limits add the requirement that the total amount of cadmium, lead, mercury and hexavalent chromium should not exceed 0.01%; Thickness measurement distinguishes between local and average thickness; Coating performance cancels boiling water resistance and adds a citric acid resistance test; Health and safety upgrades the extraction test to a total migration test.

Coating performance requirements
- Adhesion: Pass level 0 in cross-hatch test
- Solvent resistance: No bottom exposure after 30 wipes with butanone
- Total migration amount: In line with GB 4806.10
Implementation suggestions
- The thickness accuracy level (ordinary level/high precision level) should be specified during procurement
- For food contact applications, special attention should be paid to the heavy metal content test report
- It is recommended that each batch of coated foil be tested for citric acid resistance and total migration
- Transportation and storage must comply with the moisture-proof requirements of GB/T 3199
