Introduction

Overview of GB/T 2285-2018 Coking Xylene

GB/T 2285-2018 Coking Xylene is a national standard of the People's Republic of China, applicable to coking xylene obtained from crude benzene/light benzene recovered from coke oven gas through hydrogenation, distillation and other processes. The standard clearly stipulates technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, quality certificates and safety precautions.

Background of Standard Formulation and Analysis of Technological Evolution

The revision of the GB/T 2285 series of standards reflects the technological progress of my country's coking industry and the improvement of product quality requirements. Compared with the 1993 edition, the main technical changes in the new version of the standard are as follows:

  • The scope of application has been modified, and the content of hydrogenation process has been added
  • Normative references have been updated
  • Technical indicators such as appearance and color have been refined
  • Test methods and inspection rules have been optimized
  • A new chapter on safety precautions has been added

Technical requirements for coking xylene

According to GB/T 2285-2018 standard, the technical indicators of coking xylene are divided into three categories: 3°C xylene, 5°C xylene and 10°C xylene. Specific indicators are as follows:

Implementation suggestions

1. Inspection and acceptance:It is recommended that enterprises establish a complete inspection system and conduct inspections in strict accordance with the test methods in the standards. For hydrogenation process products, focus on distillation range and acid washing colorimetric indicators.

2. Packaging and storage:Ensure that the packaging meets the requirements of GB 190, and the height of the xylene water layer in the tank truck or iron drum is strictly controlled. Store in a cool and ventilated place, away from fire and heat sources.

3. Safety management: The company should conduct safety training regularly and equip necessary protective equipment and fire-fighting facilities. Dispose of waste and spillage strictly in accordance with MSDS requirements.
