《GB/T 231.1-2009金属材料 布氏硬度试验 第1部分:试验方法》由TC183(全国钢标准化技术委员会)归口,TC183SC4(全国钢标准化技术委员会力学及工艺性能试验方法分会)执行,主管部门为中国钢铁工业协会。
GB/T231的本部分规定了金属布氏硬度试验的原理、符号及说明、试验设备、试样、试验程序、结果的不确定度及试验报告。
本部分规定的布氏硬度试验范围上限为650HBW。
特殊材料或产品布氏硬度试验,应在相关标准中规定。


1 Scope

This part of GB/T 231 specifies the principle, symbols and abbreviated terms, apparatus, test piece, procedure, uncertainty of the results and test report for the Brinell hardness test for metallic materials.
This part specifies the Brinell hardness test is up to the limit of 650 HBW.
For Brinell hardness test of specific materials or products, shall be specified in particular standards.

3 Principle

An indenter (hardmetal ball with certain diameter) is forced into the surface of a test piece and, after removal of the force, the diameter of the indentation d left in the surface is measured (see Figure 1).
