《GB/T 246-1997金属管 压扁试验方法》由TC183（全国钢标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为中国钢铁工业协会。
本标准规定了金属管扁试验方法的原理、符号、试样、试验设备、试验程序、试验结果评定和试验报告。本标准适用于外径不超过400mm，管壁厚度不超过外径15%的圆形模截面无缝和焊接金属管压扁塑性变形能力的测定。压扁试验可用以显示管材的缺陷。

Scope

This standard specifies the principle, symbols, samples, test equipment, test procedures, test result evaluation and test report of the metal tube flattening test method. This standard applies to the determination of the flattening plastic deformation capacity of circular cross-section seamless and welded metal pipes with an outer diameter not exceeding 400mm and a pipe wall thickness not exceeding 15% of the outer diameter.
