1. Particle size distribution control

The new standard divides glass beads into 4 models:

  • No. 1 glass beads (850-106μm): hot melt/two-component/water-based paint surface sprinkler
  • No. 2 glass beads (600-150μm): hot melt/two-component premixed
  • No. 3 glass beads (212-90μm): solvent-based paint surface sprinkler
  • No. 4 glass beads (1400-600μm): special scene on rainy night

Note: No. 4 Rainy Night Glass Beads must be used in conjunction with conventional glass beads. Using them alone will reduce daytime visibility.


Key points of testing

  1. Dispute resolution for particle size test:When the results of the particle size analyzer method and the sieving method are inconsistent, the GB/T 6003.1 sieving method shall prevail
  2. Defect determination:Refer to the 10 types of defect morphology diagrams in Appendix A (ellipse/satellite/tear, etc.)
  3. Environmental testing:Heavy metal testing should obtain a CMA-qualified laboratory report
