3 Terms and Definitions

For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

3.1

delineator

traffic safety facilities which are set along both sides of road, used for indicating road heading direction and boundary and possess retroreflective performance

4 Product Classification

Delineator may be classified into column delineator embedded in ground and attached delineator attached to structures by arrangement conditions, into column delineator, trapezoid delineator, round delineator and rectangular delineator by shape and into white delineator and yellow delineator by color. Column delineator may be further classified into general column delineator and elastic column delineator by the characteristic of column materials.

5 Product Structure

5.1 Column delineator

5.1.1 Column delineator consists of column and retroreflective material.

5.1.2 See Figure 1 for the dimension and allowable tolerance of general column delineator; the cross section of column is hollow rounded isosceles triangle with height of 120 mm, bottom edge length of 100mm and top surface inclining to traffic lane. The column shaft is white, with 250mm long black marks around its upper part; there shall be a 180 mm× 40 mm rectangular retroreflective materials, such as reflector or reflection film, embedded in the center of the black marks; retroreflective materials and black marks shall be firmly connected to the column of the delineator and not prone to peeling.
