Introduction

1. Standard Overview

The National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 26080-2024 "Cold-bent rectangular tubes for tower cranes" was issued in 2024, replacing the old version GB/T 26080-2010. This standard specifies in detail the classification, specifications, technical requirements and test methods of cold-bent rectangular steel tubes for tower cranes. It is applicable to cold-bent hollow rectangular tubes for tower crane components produced by continuous roll cold-bending and high-frequency welding of hot-rolled steel strips or steel plates that can be deformed by cold processing.

2. Classification and Code

3. Technical requirements

Chemical composition and mechanical properties: The chemical composition and mechanical properties of steel pipes must comply with the provisions of GB/T 700, GB/T 1591 and other standards, including yield strength, tensile strength and elongation after fracture.

Dimensional deviation and appearance requirements: The allowable deviation of side length, wall thickness, diagonal length, as well as the requirements for straightness and flatness are specified. For example, when the side length is <80, the deviation is ±0.5mm; when the side length is greater than or equal to 80, the deviation is ±0.7% of the side length.

Surface quality: Cracks, pits and protrusions exceeding the allowable deviation of wall thickness are not allowed on the surface of steel pipes. For key parts such as welds, 100% penetration testing is required to ensure that there are no visible defects.

5. Implementation suggestions

Purchaser: When placing an order, the specifications, grades and special requirements of the steel pipe should be clearly stated, and the inspection basis should be ensured to comply with the standard. It is recommended to re-inspect key items such as weld quality, especially for large-sized steel pipes.

Manufacturer: The cold bending and high-frequency welding processes should be strictly controlled according to the process parameters to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality. Calibrate the measuring equipment regularly and keep complete inspection records for review.
