Scope

This standard specifies the test method for comparing the performance of insulating materials subjected to intermittent action of liquid pollutants and at the same time subjected to alternating current stress on the surface. The materials to be compared by the electric tracking resistance and electric erosion tests must be the same type of material, so the comparison of test results of different types of materials may not be completely effective.
