Scope
This standard specifies the commonly used corrosive agents for macroscopic and microscopic inspection of welded joints of the following materials in accordance with ISO 17639:2003 (E) macroscopic and microscopic inspection methods for destructive test of welded joints of metallic materials. - Carbon steel and low alloy steel; - Stainless steel; - Nickel and nickel alloys; - Titanium and titanium alloys; - Copper and copper alloys; - Aluminum and aluminum alloys. This standard is applicable to the etchant used for macroscopic and microscopic inspection of metal material welds.
