Scope

This standard specifies the basic parameters, performance and key dimensions of forged eyebolts of grade 4 for general lifting. These characteristics are necessary for the interchangeability and matching of eyebolts with other components. These eyebolts can be used for vertical and diagonal lifting loads. The size of the eye of the eye bolt specified in this standard is suitable for direct connection with the shackle with the same ultimate working load as defined in GB/T 25854. Larger eye size can also be designed so that it can be directly connected with the chain hook assembly with the same ultimate working load. Chapter 4 of this standard identifies all significant hazards, hazardous conditions, and injury events associated with eyebolts of class 4. The operating temperature range of grade 4 eyebolts specified in this standard is -20°C to +200°C. This standard does not apply to eyebolts that are not integrally forged. This standard does not apply to grade 4 forged eyebolts manufactured before the publication of the standard.
