Scope

This standard specifies a method for measuring the spatial sound field distribution curve of a given workplace. A method is given for determining from measured data two parameters that characterize the acoustic performance of a workplace in terms of noise control: the sound pressure level excess relative to a free field, and the sound pressure level attenuation when the distance is doubled. This standard applies to any shape and any size of the work room, as long as the number of microphone positions meet the requirements of the regression calculation. This standard does not apply to sound quality evaluations related to language communication or other psychological aspects.
