Scope

This standard specifies the functional and technical requirements and test methods for environmental control systems used to alleviate and compensate disabilities. The purpose of this standard is to give safety requirements and recommendations for manufacturers of environmental control systems. This standard does not cover target equipment. The technical requirements of equipment connected within the system should follow their specific standards, such as adjustable beds.
