1 Scope

This standard specifies terms and definitions related to electromagnetic compatibility of road vehicle.

This standard is applicable to Categories M, N, O and L vehicles and electrical and electronic systems/components, and may be referenced by other motor vehicles.

vehicle electromagnetic environment
sum of all electromagnetic phenomena existing inside and outside the vehicle

3.2
vehicle electromagnetic compatibility; EMC
ability of vehicles, electrical and electronic systems/components to operate normally in the electromagnetic environment of vehicles without affecting the normal operation of other vehicles, systems/components

electromagnetic disturbance; EMD
any electromagnetic phenomenon which may degrade the performance of a device, equipment or system, or adversely affect living or non-living things

electromagnetic phenomenon in which degradation of the performance of an equipment, transmission channel or system caused by an electromagnetic disturbance
