As the 7th part of the GB/T 30240 series, this standard together with 9 volumes such as transportation and tourism constitute the foreign language translation and writing standard system in the public service field. Its technical evolution presents three characteristics:

Translation of medical institution names
The standard adopts the layered translation strategy:
- Hospital body: "Hospital" is the benchmark translation, and specialized hospitals adopt the "specialty name + Hospital" structure (such as Oncology Hospital)
- Branch relationship: Branch hospitals use the two paradigms of "Branch Hospital of General Hospital Name" or "General Hospital Name, Branch Hospital Name Branch"
- Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital: The full name of TCM must be retained in "Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital", and it can be abbreviated only in non-medical scenarios
Translation of medical service information
Typical case: Differences in the translation of the emergency department in different scenarios:
- Graded Application: Grade-A hospitals adopt the full name translation, and community medical institutions can simplify it appropriately
- Dynamic Update: New and emerging departments (such as Internet hospitals) refer to the expansion of clause 4.1.5
- Logo System: Distinguish the translation and writing differences between location logos and function logos according to clause 5.2.4
- Cultural Adaptation: TCM terms adopt "Pinyin + English annotation" (such as Qigong Research Institute)
