Overview of the Standard

GB/T 31596 "Social Insurance Terminology" is divided into six parts. This part (Part 6) is specifically for the field of maternity insurance, defines relevant terms and definitions, and clarifies its scope of application. This standard was proposed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China to standardize the management, services and academic research of maternity insurance.

• Procreation: The whole process of pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding of women.
• Maternity insurance: A social insurance system in which the state establishes a fund through employers' contributions to provide economic compensation and medical insurance to insured persons for childbirth and family planning.

Maternity Insurance Benefit Management

Maternity allowance is the wage compensation that employees receive during maternity leave or family planning surgery leave. Its payment period is determined according to relevant laws and regulations, and is usually linked to local policies and actual conditions.

Implementation Suggestions

1. Policy Implementation: Local governments should formulate specific implementation rules based on national standards to ensure that the policy is implemented and effective.
2. Fund supervision: Strengthen the management of maternity insurance funds, prevent misappropriation and fraud, and ensure the safety of funds.
3. Publicity and training: Through multi-channel publicity, improve the awareness of employers and insured persons about maternity insurance, and conduct business training regularly.
