1. Background of standard formulation and analysis of technological evolution

With the development of the coal industry, coal slurry, as an efficient energy carrier, is increasingly in demand in the field of transportation. The formulation of GB/T31937-2015 aims to standardize the technical requirements of straight seam submerged arc welded steel pipes for coal slurry transportation to ensure their safety and reliability. This standard combines domestic and foreign technical experience and refers to international standards such as API Specification 5L, reflecting the progress and evolution of domestic steel pipe manufacturing technology.

3. Interpretation of the main contents of the standard

3.1 Steel grade representation method

The standard adopts a double grade system, such as L450J/X65J. Among them, 'L' represents coal slurry pipeline, the number is the lower limit of yield strength, 'X' represents pipeline steel, and the letter represents the purpose. This naming method of LSAW steel pipe is easy to identify and classify.

3.2 Technical requirements

The standard specifies the dimensional deviation, surface quality and mechanical properties of LSAW steel pipes for coal slurry transportation projects. Among them, the allowable deviation of wall thickness is ±10% to -3%, and the weight deviation of a single steel pipe shall not exceed +10%.

3.3 Test methods

Including tensile test, Charpy impact test, drop weight tear test and ultrasonic flaw detection. For example, the hydrostatic test pressure calculation formula is P=2ST/D, which must comply with the provisions of Table 8.
