Introduction

1. Standard Overview

GB/T32443-2015 specifies the terms and definitions, principles, equipment requirements, test conditions and result calculation methods for the determination of volatile organic compound emissions from furniture using the small-scale hood method. This standard is applicable to all types of furniture materials and aims to evaluate their impact on indoor air quality.

3. Implementation Suggestions

3.1 Test Condition Control

The test should be carried out in an environment with a temperature of (23±2)℃ and a relative humidity of (45±5)%. The air flow and flow rate must be strictly calibrated to ensure the accuracy of the experimental results.

3.2 Sample Preparation

The samples should be conditioned before testing and the storage conditions should be recorded. It is recommended to use an inert substrate to seal the lower surface of the sample to reduce the risk of contamination.

3.3 Data Analysis and Report

When calculating the area-specific release rate of volatile organic compounds, the influence of background concentration must be deducted. The results should include a description of the sample location, test conditions and laboratory information.
