Key technical points

Short-circuit current calculation specification

The standard requires the use of GB/T 15544.1 and NB/T 35043 specifications:

  • Ignore the resistance component and use the sub-transient reactance Xd" saturation value
  • The equivalent electromotive force standard value is 1 and the phase is consistent
  • When calculating the periodic component, the non-periodic component coefficient Kap(1.5-2.0) needs to be considered

Typical protection setting case

Example of high-voltage plant transformer longitudinal differential protection:
A 6300kVA transformer, the measured unbalanced current is 0.15Ie:
  1. Minimum operating current = 1.3×(0.03×2+0.05)×Ie=0.143Ie→take 0.5Ie
  2. Slope S=(2.5-0.5)/(10-0.8)=0.22
  3. Differential quick break take 7Ie
