Scope

This part of GB/T 32788 specifies the principle, instruments and equipment, samples, test conditions, test procedures, test results and test reports of the volatile matter content of the soaking material. This part is applicable to the determination of volatile matter content of prepregs with carbon fiber, glass fiber, aramid fiber, etc. as reinforcing materials and thermosetting resin as matrix. If aramid fiber is used as a reinforcing material, at the test temperature, the moisture absorbed by the fiber will volatilize together with the volatile matter, so the moisture content is deducted to correct the volatile matter content.
