Introduction
GB/T 3294—2018 Professional interpretation of shoe last size detection method
Background and significance of standard revision
As the core foundation of footwear manufacturing, the dimensional accuracy of shoe lasts directly affects the comfort and fit of finished shoes. GB/T 3294—2018 "Shoe Last Size Detection Method" is a comprehensive revision of the original standard GB/T 3294—1998, which mainly optimizes and supplements the measurement methods of key parameters such as the length, width, height, circumference and sway of shoe lasts. With the advancement of footwear manufacturing technology and the improvement of consumers' requirements for shoe comfort, the new standard has put forward higher requirements in terms of detection accuracy, equipment selection and data processing.
New and modified technical content
| Technical content | Requirements of the 1998 edition | Revised in the 2018 edition |
|---|---|---|
| New testing equipment | - Height vernier caliper - Wide seat square | + Square (accuracy ≥1mm) + Back heel height measuring instrument + Front point detector of the whole mouth |
| Shoe last length measurement | Directly measure with vernier caliper | Combined with the double verification of the last sample length and manual measurement |
| Post-tolerance detection | Measure only with a square ruler | Add graphic annotation and data processing specifications |
| Girth measurement method | Single ring measurement method | Multi-dimensional circumference verification method (including plantar circumference, pocket and heel circumference) |
Analysis of core detection steps
Measurement method of shoe last length
Step description:
- Determine the center axis OA: Draw it on the heel split line at an angle of 6°-8° through the center point of the heel.
- Use a shoe tape ruler (accuracy 1mm) to measure along the center axis OA and record the length d.
- Data processing: keep one decimal place, the unit is millimeter.
Detection of the back tolerance of the shoe last
Operation points:
- The short side of the square is parallel to the bottom surface of the shoe last, and the vertical distance a of the heel is measured.
- Ensure that the sample to be tested is in a natural state to avoid the deviation of the measurement value due to external forces.
Implementation Suggestions
Equipment Selection:
- Give priority to high-precision instruments, such as vernier calipers (accuracy 0.02mm) and tripod parallel gauges.
- Ensure that the calibration cycle of the newly added equipment is consistent with the original equipment to avoid the measurement results being affected by equipment errors.
Staff Training:
- Operators need to receive professional training and be familiar with the various test steps and instrument usage specifications.
- Regular refresher training is recommended to ensure that technical proficiency is synchronized with standard updates.
Data Processing:
- Record the measurement results strictly in the format specified in 7.3 and retain one decimal place.
- Establish an electronic database to facilitate subsequent data analysis and comparative research.
