Introduction

Interpretation of technical specifications for treatment and disposal of cobalt-containing waste

1. Scope of application and classification method of the standard

This standard applies to the treatment and disposal of all cobalt-containing waste, covering technical requirements such as classification, pretreatment, leaching and recovery.

Category Description Typical source
Cobalt alloy waste Including cobalt-based alloy chips, slag and scraps Metal processing industry
Cobalt compound waste Such as cobalt hydroxide, cobalt chloride, etc. Chemical industry

2. Comparison of treatment technologies for cobalt-containing waste

The following is a three-dimensional framework comparison of cobalt-containing waste treatment technologies, covering process flow, equipment requirements and applicable scenarios:

Technical Dimensions Pretreatment Stage Leaching Stage Purification Stage
Process Flow Roasting, Crushing, Magnetic Separation Chemical Dissolution, Electrochemical Dissolution Extraction, Stripping
Equipment Requirements Roasting Furnace, Crusher, Magnetic Separator Electrolyzer, Reaction Equipment Extraction Box, Stripping Device
Applicable Scenarios Applicable to large-particle waste Applicable to high-purity requirements Applicable to fine purification

3. Implementation suggestions and precautions

Implementation steps:

  1. Classification and identification: Classify cobalt-containing waste according to GB/T25954-2010.
  2. Pretreatment stage: Use roasting, crushing, magnetic separation and other methods to reduce impurity content.
  3. Leaching process: Select chemical dissolution or electrochemical dissolution technology to extract cobalt elements.
  4. Purification process: Improve the purity of the solution through iron removal, calcium and magnesium removal and extraction process.
  5. Purification stage: Use stripping technology to prepare high-purity cobalt-containing products.

Notes:

  • Strictly control process parameters in accordance with standards, such as roasting temperature (600-700℃) and leaching time (2-10h).
  • Ensure compliance of environmental protection facilities, especially waste gas and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Regularly monitor the leaching rate (not less than 98%) and recovery rate (not less than 96%) of cobalt.
