Overview of HSK tool taper gauge inspection standards
HSK (High-Speed Key) tool taper gauges are important measuring tools used to detect the accuracy of taper interfaces in machine tool spindles and other rotating machinery. The GB/T 33151-2016 "HSK tool taper gauge inspection" standard specifies in detail the type, basic parameters, technical requirements and inspection methods of HSK tool taper gauges, providing an important basis for ensuring the machining quality of machine tool spindle taper holes and taper shanks.

Technical parameters of HSK tool taper gauges
Basic parameters of 1:10 taper plug gauges
Table 1 lists the specifications, half angles and basic dimensions of $1:10$ taper plug gauges, which are suitable for checking the taper of the taper hole of the machine tool spindle. Its measuring length $L_p$ is calculated according to the formula and refers to Appendix A.
Comparison of 1:9.98 taper ring gauges and calibration plug gauges
$1:9.98$ large and small diameter taper ring gauges are respectively suitable for machine tool spindles of different specifications. Their basic dimensions are shown in Tables 2 and 3. Table 4 gives the technical parameters of $1:9.98$ taper calibration plug gauges, which can be used to calibrate other measuring tools.
Implementation suggestions
- Choose the right gauge:According to the machine tool spindle specifications and machining accuracy requirements, select a $1:10$ or $1:9.98$ series taper gauge.
- Environmental control:The inspection should be carried out in a constant temperature environment of $(20±3)^\circ C$, and ensure that the gauge and the testing equipment are at the same temperature for at least 4 hours.
- Calibration method:For $1:9.98$ taper ring gauges, it is recommended to use $1:9.98$ calibration plug gauges for calibration to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Surface treatment:Regularly check the surface roughness of the working surface and positioning end surface of the gauge to ensure that it meets the standard requirements ($Ra ≤ 0.2μm$ and $Ra ≤ 0.4μm$).
- Record Management: It is recommended to establish detailed inspection records, including measurement data, environmental conditions and equipment calibration status, for traceability and analysis.
