Introduction

Analysis of the core content of the standard

This standard specifies the technical requirements for X/γ-ray inspection of metal welded joints using CR technology of stored phosphor imaging plates (IP plates) and DR technology of digital array detectors (DDA), with a focus on ensuring that digital inspection achieves the same defect recognition capability as traditional film technology (GB/T3323.1).

Comparison of technical grade systems

Grade Applicable scenarios Sensitivity requirements Compensation measures
Grade A Basic detection requirements Basic image quality meter sensitivity specified in GB/T23901.1/2/5 Increase grayscale value/SNRN
Grade B High-precision detection Optimize defect recognition capability SNRN increased by 1.4 times

Key Technical Innovations

1. Normalized Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNRN)

The performance comparison of different detector systems is achieved through the formula SNRN=SNRs×(88.6/SRb), where SRb is the basic spatial resolution.

2. Triple compensation mechanism

  • CPⅠ: for contrast loss caused by increased tube voltage
  • CPⅡ: compensation for inherent unsharpness of detector
  • CPⅢ: correction of local blur caused by bad pixels

Implementation Guide

Detector Selection Recommendations

The CR system should comply with the classification requirements of ISO16371-1, and the DDA system should be regularly calibrated for bad pixels (refer to ASTM E2597). For workpieces with wall thickness>50mm, a microfocus DDA system is recommended.

Optimization of Transillumination Parameters

The geometric magnification M=SDD/SOD should be controlled between 1.0-3.0, and special attention should be paid to the compensation of penetration thickness difference when using Ir192 source (see Appendix B of the standard).

Image quality verification

A dual-line image quality meter (GB/T23901.5) must be used to measure the SRb value. The A-level detection requires CNRN/Δw≥3.5.
