Introduction

1. Background of standard formulation and technical evolution

GB/T 33270-2016 "Test method for deformation of wool fabrics after water drop" is designed to evaluate the change in flatness of wool fabrics after water immersion, drying, ironing and moisture balance. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Textile Standardization and is applicable to combed pure wool, wool blended and wool-like chemical fiber fabrics for clothing and decoration.

2. Comparison of standard frameworks

Dimensions GB/T 33270-2016 Old standard Comparison with international standards
Test method Flatness evaluation after immersion, drying, ironing and moisture balance Immersion and visual evaluation Comprehensive test method recommended by ASTM D4132-19
Equipment requirements Electric iron (pressure 1.2kPa) and temperature control device Manual ironing High temperature and high pressure steam equipment
Result Assessment Half-grade rating system based on standard samples Simple pass/fail judgment Multi-grade scoring and deviation analysis

3. Implementation Suggestions

Equipment Calibration and Operation: Use a balance and stopwatch that meet the accuracy requirements, and ensure that the test conditions such as temperature and humidity are strictly controlled.

Sample Preparation: Pay attention to the pattern of the fabric when sampling to avoid errors caused by local structure. It is recommended to adjust the humidity in standard atmosphere for at least 24 hours.

Washing and Drying: Control the concentration of the washing solution (4g synthetic detergent per liter of water) to ensure the accurate immersion time. Avoid artificial wrinkles during drying and keep it in a natural drape state.

Ironing process: Use a high-temperature electric iron or alternative equipment, and apply pressure evenly for 10 seconds per part to prevent repeated ironing from causing additional damage.

Result evaluation: Rating is performed in a dark room against a standard sample, ensuring that three people independently evaluate and take the average value. Be careful to ignore the impact of artificial creases on the rating.
