1. Background and significance of the standard
Silicone rubber compound is an important component of the insulation and sheathing materials of wires and cables, and its performance is directly related to the safety and reliability of cables. The formulation of GB/T 33430—2016 standard aims to regulate the production, testing and application of silicone rubber compound to ensure that the product quality meets the requirements of national standards.
The standard was drafted by Shanghai Cable Research Institute and other units and is applicable to silicone rubber compound for wires and cables made of silicone rubber raw rubber as the basic material and with the addition of reinforcing agents and other modifying additives. Its performance requirements cover multiple dimensions such as tensile strength, tear strength, and breakdown strength to ensure the reliable performance of the product in different application scenarios.
