Introduction

1. Standard scope and core content

GB/T 33840—2017 mainly stipulates the technical requirements of the terms and definitions, basic parameters, model compilation method, material requirements, design specifications, manufacturing process, installation and commissioning, operation and maintenance of water jacket heating furnaces. It is applicable to equipment that uses solid, liquid or gaseous fuel to heat crude oil or its mixture through water in the water jacket, especially for water jacket heating furnaces with a rated working pressure of less than 0.1 MPa and a maximum working temperature of less than 120℃.

2. Explanation of Key Terms

Terms Definition
Water Jacket Heating Furnace A device that uses water as the intermediate heat carrier to heat the heated medium in the heat exchange tubes in the water jacket.
Heat Exchange Tube A tubular structure that absorbs heat from the outer wall and transfers heat to the inner fluid.
Furnace Hearth A cylindrical component arranged inside the water jacket that serves as a combustion space and radiation heating surface.

3. Comparison of Standard Frameworks

The following is a comparative analysis of the core framework of the standard with other related standards:

Standard Dimensions GB/T 33840—2017 Comparison Standards Difference Analysis
Scope Definition Applicable to multiple fuel types, with clear working pressure and temperature limits. Other industry standards are usually targeted at a single fuel or specific application scenarios. More universal and comprehensive.
Technical parameters Detailedly specify key indicators such as heat flux density and heat flux density of furnace cross section. Some standards only provide basic parameter ranges. Parameter requirements are more specific and strict.
Safety specifications Strengthen the configuration requirements of safety accessories and instruments, such as pressure gauges, water level gauges, etc. Some standards are relatively brief in terms of safety protection. More emphasis is placed on the safety of equipment operation.

4. Implementation Suggestions

In order to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the water jacket heating furnace, the following measures are recommended:

  • Material selection:Strictly select corrosion-resistant and high-strength steel plates and steel pipes in accordance with the standards, especially the pressure-bearing components.
  • Manufacturing process:Focus on monitoring welding quality to ensure that the welds are free of defects such as cracks and pores, and conduct 100% non-destructive testing when necessary.
  • Installation and commissioning:Performed by a professional team, conduct basic inspections and flatness calibration in strict accordance with design requirements to ensure that the direction of thermal expansion is not restricted.
  • Operation and maintenance:Establish a regular inspection system, focus on changes in water level, pressure and temperature parameters, and handle abnormal situations in a timely manner.
