Corrosion resistant hot rolled section steel for cargo oil tanks

1. Scope and applicability of the standard

This standard specifies the grade representation method, ordering content, size and shape, weight tolerance, technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules for corrosion resistant hot rolled section steel for cargo oil tanks of crude oil tankers.

3. Brand indication and classification

The brand consists of two parts: steel grade symbol (A, B, D, E, etc.) and use identification (RCU, RCB, RCW). For example, AH36-RCW is suitable for the upper deck and inner bottom area of cargo oil tanks.

5.1 Chemical Composition

5.3 Corrosion resistance

The steel section shall pass the corrosion test simulating the upper deck and inner bottom plate area of the cargo oil tank, and the weight loss rate shall be ≤2mm/a.
