Background and Significance of the Standard

With the rapid development of electronic equipment and communication technology, electromagnetic interference problems are becoming increasingly serious. GB/T 34938—2017 "General Technical Requirements for Planar Electromagnetic Shielding Materials" came into being, aiming to standardize the technical requirements of planar electromagnetic shielding materials and ensure their effective application in the fields of industry, communication, national defense, etc.

This standard covers a variety of shielding materials, including industrial electromagnetic shielding fabrics, conductive gaskets, electromagnetic shielding rubber, electromagnetic shielding plastics, etc., which are suitable for electromagnetic shielding needs in the frequency range of 0 Hz to 300 GHz.

Test methods and implementation suggestions

According to the standard requirements, all shielding materials must pass strict test methods to verify their performance. For example: the shielding effectiveness of electromagnetic shielding film must be ≥20 dB, the thermal shrinkage rate must be ≤2%, and the light transmittance must be ≥60%.

Practical application case analysis

In communication equipment, electromagnetic shielding metal plates (nets) are widely used to protect circuits from external interference. Its shielding effectiveness must exceed 20 dB to ensure the stability of signal transmission.
