GB/T 35082—2018 "Process Specifications for Cold Extruded Steel Parts" is a standardized document guiding the production of cold extruded steel parts, covering important contents such as classification of deformation methods, determination of process plans, preparation of deformation procedures, determination of main process parameters, blank preparation and equipment selection principles.
Classification of cold extrusion deformation methods
According to the standard, the deformation methods of steel cold extrusion parts are divided into the following six types:
- Forward extrusion
- Reverse extrusion
- Compound extrusion
- Upsetting and extrusion compound
- Radial extrusion
- Free shrinkage

Professional terms and practical application case analysis
Section reduction rate ($\varepsilon_{\mathrm{F}}$): The proportion of the cross-sectional area of the material reduced during the cold extrusion process. For example, in forward extrusion, $\varepsilon_{\mathrm{F}} = \frac{F_{\mathrm{0}} - F_{\mathrm{1}}}{F_{\mathrm{0}}} \times 100\%$.
Unit extrusion pressure ($\phi$): Refers to the extrusion pressure per unit area, in megapascals (MPa). Determined by nomogram or numerical simulation method.
