Introduction

GB/T 35155—2017 Standard Overview

GB/T 35155—2017 "Anti-cavitation water hammer relief valve" is an important standard formulated by China for water conservancy projects and water supply and drainage systems, aiming to protect the pipeline system from water hammer damage.

Core term analysis

  • Anti-cavitation water hammer relief valve: a hydraulic control valve that can prevent water hammer damage and cavitation, suitable for clean water delivery systems.
  • Anti-cavitation cover: a key component installed on the valve body, with long strip holes or circular holes opened in the circumference to reduce cavitation.

Structural and material requirements

The structural design of the relief valve and the materials of its main components must comply with the requirements of Table 1:

Part name Material name Brand, code Standard
Valve body Ductile iron, austenitic stainless steel QT450-10, QT500-7, CF8 GB/T12227, GB/T12230
Anti-cavitation cover Austenitic stainless steel CF8 GB/T 12230

Model and naming rules

The product code is FQFA, and the model is indicated as follows:

Example: The model of the anti-cavitation water hammer relief valve with a nominal size of DN100 and flange connection is: FQFA10046X-16Q.

Performance requirements and test methods

The relief valve must meet the following key performances:

  • Shell strength: withstand 1.5 times the nominal pressure, and the pressure holding time is not less than 5 minutes.
  • Sealing performance: in accordance with GB/T13927.
  • Relief performance: Open when the inlet pressure is lower than the low-pressure pilot valve setting value and higher than the high-pressure pilot valve setting value, and there should be no sticking, frequency jumping or chattering.

Implementation suggestions

To ensure the effective implementation of the standard, it is recommended to:

  1. Select materials and components in strict accordance with the requirements of the standard.
  2. Perform sufficient performance tests during the design phase.
  3. Regularly check the working status of the relief valve to ensure its normal operation.
