Introduction
Analysis of the key points of standard revision
| Revision items | 1995 edition | 2025 edition |
|---|---|---|
| Definition of terms | Single definition system | Distinguish between uncoated/coated seeds, and add 12 new terms |
| Instruments and equipment | List of basic equipment | Added tweezers and brushes, and clarified 4 types of precision balances |
| Inspection of coated seeds | Not separately stipulated | Added Chapter 6.2 and Appendix A.4 Judgment Rules |
Core Inspection Procedures
1. Analysis of Uncoated Seeds
Key Steps:
- Sample Collection: At least 2500 seeds or the weight specified in GB/T 3543.2
- Separation and Identification: Use magnifying glass, sieve, etc. to separate into clean seeds/other seeds/impurities according to the rules in Appendix A
- Weight Record: Accurate to 0.0001g (for samples below 1g)
2. Special Treatment of Coated Seeds
Case: Corn pelletized seeds should be inspected using a double-layer sieve (1.0mm+0.5mm) for water washing and threshing, and then dried and analyzed according to the uncoated seed procedure
Technological Evolution Analysis
This revision reflects three major technological advances:
- Classification refinement: Establish an independent inspection system for coated seeds, and add 7 new judgment standards such as clean and pelleted seeds
- Operation standardization: Clarify the number of decimal places for weighing (Table 1) and the calculation formula for allowable error
- Equipment standardization: Require precision instruments such as 0.1mg sensitivity balance
Implementation suggestions
| Project | Operation points |
|---|---|
| Herring of shelled seeds | 23 types of seeds such as lettuce need to be recorded separately and judged according to the standards in Appendix A.1 |
| Allowable error control | When purity ≥99%, half sample error ≤0.23% (shelled seeds) |
| Result rounding | The sum of each component must be 100.0%, trace components (<0.05%) are not included |
Notes:Separated cotyledons of leguminous seeds are listed as impurities; attached sterile florets of oats do not need to be removed
