Interpretation of the core content of the standard

This standard specifies the method for determining volatile organic compounds in wood-plastic composite materials for construction using a small release chamber system, which is suitable for the detection of organic compounds with an initial boiling point ≤250℃.

Test Process Detailed Explanation

Specimen preparation

The specimens need to be equilibrated for 15±2 days at 23±1℃ and 50±5%RH, with a spacing of ≥25mm to ensure air circulation. Hollow specimens need to be sealed with inert materials.

Sampling time nodes

  • Key test points: 1 day (24h), 3 days (72h), 7 days (168h), 14±1 days, 28±2 days
  • The test can be terminated early when the concentration is lower than the quantitative limit

Instrument configuration requirements

A small release chamber system that complies with GB/T 29899-2013 must be configured, and the following analytical equipment must be used:

  1. Thermal desorption-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS)
  2. Flame ionization detector (GC/FID)
  3. Sampling system with a flow range of 0-500mL/min

Implementation suggestions

Laboratory quality control

It is recommended to calibrate the standard curve weekly, and the deviation of the standard sample should be ≤15%. The sampling tube needs to be analyzed within 4 weeks.

Data Analysis Points

TVOC calculations must include all peaks from n-hexane to n-hexadecane, and qualitative and quantitative analysis must be performed on at least 10 main peaks.
