Introduction

1. Standard Overview

GB/T 35493-2017 Titanate Coupling Agent was drafted according to GB/T1.1-2009 rules, proposed by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and managed by the Chemical Additives Sub-Technical Committee of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rubber and Rubber Products. The standard applies to titanates and coupling agents made from titanium tetrachloride and alcohol as the main raw materials.

3. Technical requirements

According to the technical requirements of Tables 5 to 8, different types of titanate coupling agents have significant differences in key indicators such as density, refractive index, and viscosity. For example, the relative molecular mass range of polybutyl titanate is relatively large (see Table 1), while alkoxy phosphorus-containing titanate coupling agents have strict requirements on pH value.

4. Implementation suggestions

  • During the production process, quality control should be strictly carried out in accordance with the technical parameters in the standard.
  • It is recommended that enterprises establish a complete laboratory testing system to ensure the accurate measurement of key indicators such as chlorine content and titanium content.
  • Operators need to receive professional training, especially when handling tetraisopropyl titanate, which is a flammable liquid, and safety regulations should be strictly followed.
