Background and Significance of the Standard

This standard was formulated to meet the detection needs of banned substances in cosmetics and to standardize the application of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) in the determination of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid ester compounds. These compounds include:

4-hydroxybenzoic acid propyl, isopropyl, butyl, isobutyl, phenyl, benzyl and amyl esters.

Scope of application and limit value

This standard is applicable to the determination of the above 7 substances in creams, emulsions, gels, water, powders, wax-based cosmetics, etc. The detection limit and quantification limit of the method are both 2~6 mg/kg to ensure the validity and reliability of the test results.

The main instruments used include: High performance liquid chromatograph (with diode array detector), Analytical balance, etc. The preparation of standard solution requires the use of first-grade pure water and chromatographic reagents to ensure the accuracy of the data.
