4. Implementation Suggestions

(1) Design and Selection

  • Size Selection:Select the nominal size (such as 250X200, 300X250, etc.) reasonably according to the ship type and mooring and towing requirements.
  • Material Requirements:Preferably use cast steel or equivalent materials that meet the standards, and ensure that the weld leg length meets the calculated weight requirements.

(2) Installation and Maintenance

  • Installation Location:Select a suitable location according to the mooring fairlead hole type (Type A deck installation, Type B navigation wall installation) to ensure structural stability.
  • Marking Requirements:Clearly mark the safe working load (SWL) in accordance with IMO guidelines and classification society requirements to avoid obstruction.

(3) Inspection and Compliance

  • Material Inspection:Mechanical property test of steel castings to ensure the yield strength is not less than 235 N/mm².
  • Structural Inspection:Inspect the welding quality of the base to ensure there are no cracks or pores and meet the requirements of mooring and towing load.
