Technology evolution analysis
This standard is equivalent to the ISO14084-1:2015 international standard, and for the first time establishes a standard system for drawing power plant flow charts in my country:
- Innovation: The PID diagram is defined as a process and instrumentation diagram, which is distinguished from the traditional piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID)
- Compatibility: It forms a hierarchical relationship with the ISO15519 series of standards and supplements special requirements in the power plant field

Typical application scenarios
In the steam-water system of a 600MW coal-fired power plant:
- The BLD diagram shows the energy flow of the boiler-turbine-condenser
- The PFD diagram annotates the control parameters of the feedwater pump (pressure 8.5MPa)
- PID diagram details pipeline grade/insulation requirements
Symbol representation specifications
Key requirements:
- Flow arrow spacing ≤ 10 times line width
- DN value must be marked at pipe diameter change
- Redundant equipment marking such as 3×50%
