Introduction

Analysis of the standard framework

GB/T 36341.1-2018 builds a four-layer architecture system for shape modeling: entity→feature constraint→streaming→storage format. Among them, the entity is the basic unit, which is composed of shape and attribute, forming the atomic component of the 3D model.

Shape representation technology

Continuous representation of shape

Uses parametric mathematical description, including:

  • Basic geometric bodies: 7 types including sphere/cylinder, with accuracy error ≤0.01mm
  • Parametric curves and surfaces: 5 types of algorithms including Bezier/NURBS, supporting order ≤10

Discrete representation of shapes

Based on combination of discrete elements:

  • Point cloud: single model supports ≥100 million points
  • Subdivision surfaces: 4 subdivision rules including Catmull-Clark

Entity attribute specification

Texture mapping

Uses UV coordinate system (s, t∈[0,1]), supports multi-texture overlay. For example, the car model needs to map the paint texture and LOGO map at the same time.
