Introduction
GB/T 36354—2018 Interpretation of Design Requirements for Digital Language Learning Environments
1. Standard Overview and Background Analysis
GB/T 36354—2018 "Design Requirements for Digital Language Learning Environments" is a standard proposed and coordinated by the National Information Technology Standardization Technical Committee, which aims to standardize the design and implementation of digital language learning environments. The standard covers the classification, grading, functional requirements, performance indicators and safety specifications of digital language laboratories and simultaneous interpretation laboratories.
With the rapid development of digital education, language learning environments have gradually evolved from traditional teaching models to intelligent and networked ones. The formulation of this standard provides a scientific basis for the selection and deployment of language teaching equipment, ensuring the technological advancement and reliability of teaching facilities.
| Classification Dimensions | Digital Language Laboratory | Simultaneous Interpretation Laboratory |
|---|---|---|
| Equipment Composition | Teacher Main Control Unit + Student Unit (Terminal or Computer Type) | Chairman Machine + Interpreter Machine + Display + Camera, etc. |
| Functional Features | Multimedia data transmission, processing and storage, supporting group discussion, oral test, etc. | Simultaneous interpretation training, dual-track recording, multi-language simulation training, etc. |
| Performance indicators | Class A: Load capacity ≥ 128 student units; Class B: Support terminal type or computer type. | Class A: Frequency response 125Hz~12500Hz; Class B: Frequency response 150Hz~6300Hz. |
2. Classification and grading
According to the purpose, digital language learning environment is divided into two categories: digital language laboratory and simultaneous interpretation laboratory:
- Digital language laboratory: further divided into terminal type and computer type, mainly used in language teaching.
- Simultaneous interpretation laboratory: Focus on simultaneous interpretation training, support multi-language teaching and simulation.
3. Environmental requirements
Case: Practical application of network configuration
In the digital language laboratory, the network environment needs to meet the following conditions:
- Internal network communication in the classroom: student units can access the shared directory of the teacher's main control unit through the network name or IP address.
- Campus network communication: the system can be connected to the school's campus network resources.
4. Functional requirements
The functional requirements of the digital language laboratory and the simultaneous interpretation laboratory are different:
- Digital language laboratory: supports terminal type and computer type, and provides core functions such as multimedia teaching, group discussion, and oral test.
- Simultaneous Interpretation Laboratory: Focuses on simultaneous interpretation training, has dual-track recording, multi-language simulation and other functions, and supports network configuration requirements GB/T 15629.3-2014.
5. Performance Requirements
To ensure the efficient operation of the digital language learning environment, the performance indicators must meet the following standards:
- Load Capacity: The teacher host computer supports at least 128 student units.
- Recording Requirements: Sampling rate ≥ 22kHz, dual-track recording format is a universal standard audio format (such as MP3).
- Sound Transmission: Frequency response, signal-to-noise ratio, harmonic distortion and other indicators must meet the technical requirements of the corresponding level.
6. Security Requirements
Security is an important consideration in the design of digital language learning environments:
- Insulation resistance and dielectric strength must comply with GB8898-2011.
- Information and network security should comply with GB/T 25068.1-2012, and protection methods such as hard disk protection cards, anti-virus software or diskless workstations should be adopted.
7. Implementation Suggestions
Based on the content of the standard, the following are implementation suggestions in actual applications:
- Equipment Selection: Select the appropriate equipment type (terminal or computer type) according to the laboratory scale and teaching needs.
- Network Configuration: Ensure that the network bandwidth and routing settings meet the standard requirements to avoid data transmission delays and interruptions.
- Security Management: Deploy effective network security protection measures, regularly update system patches, and prevent data leakage.
