Scope
This standard gives guidance on reliability growth for final and acceptance tests of specific complex systems, as well as guidance on accelerated test conditions and termination criteria for final and acceptance tests. "Specific" means that there is no relevant information on similar systems, and the small number of systems produced means that the information generated by these trials will have limited utility for future products. This standard is applicable to the reliability increase of repairable complex systems composed of hardware embedded in software. It is used to describe the procedures of acceptance tests and trial runs to ensure that the reliability of the delivered system will not be reduced due to coding errors, process errors or manufacturing errors. sex. This standard applies only to the early failure period of the system life cycle, not to the occasional failure period, nor to the depletion failure period. This standard can also be used by manufacturers to optimize the duration of in-house production trials when manufacturing prototypes, single systems or small series production. This standard applies to large hardware/software systems, but does not cover large network systems, such as telecommunications and power networks, because the new components of these systems usually cannot be isolated during the test. This standard does not apply to stand-alone software testing, but its methods can be used for testing embedded software when using simulated workloads on hardware systems. This standard applies to the reliability growth test before delivery or delivery of the system, which can be carried out at the manufacturer's or user's site. If the user performs reliability growth with improved hardware and newer versions of software, this standard can be used to guide that growth process. This standard applies to a wide range of areas, but does not apply to health or safety systems. This standard does not apply to systems covered by IEC 62279.
