1. Background and significance of the formulation of the standard
GB/T 36784-2018 "Yangzhou geese" national standard is an important achievement of my country's animal husbandry standardization construction, aiming to standardize the breed characteristics, appearance characteristics and production performance of Yangzhou geese. The standard was proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China and was managed by the National Technical Committee for Animal Husbandry Standardization.

The slaughter rate and breast muscle rate data of 70-day-old goslings show that Yangzhou geese have a higher meat value. The slaughter rate and breast muscle rate of male geese are better than those of female geese.
