GB/T 36922-2018 "Determination of organophosphorus flame retardant content in toys by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry" is a standard proposed by the China Light Industry Federation and managed by the National Toy Standardization Technical Committee. The main drafting units of this standard include authoritative institutions such as the Mechanical and Electrical Products Testing Technology Center of the Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and the Toys and Infant Products Laboratory of the Inspection and Quarantine Technology Center of the Guangdong Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.

Detection Principle and Method

This standard adopts gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) combined with external standard method for quantitative analysis. The specific steps include:

  • Sample preparation:Cut the toy material into pieces less than 5mm×5mm and weigh 1.0g of sample.
  • Extraction process:Use Soxhlet extractor with toluene as solvent to reflux and extract organophosphorus flame retardant.
  • Purification and analysis:After the extract is filtered through a membrane, it is tested by GC-MS and qualitatively confirmed by characteristic ions and relative abundance ratios.
