This standard systematically stipulates a graded protection system for lightning protection of electromechanical systems on highways, and innovatively proposes a differentiated protection strategy based on the level of thunderstorm days. The main contents include:

1. Classification of thunderstorm days

The whole country is divided into 4 levels, corresponding to different protection requirements:

Special attention should be paid to the tunnel electromechanical system: the first distribution box in the tunnel in the strong lightning area needs to be equipped with Class B SPD, and the subsequent boxes can be equipped with Class D.

3. Equipotential connection specifications

  • The metal frame of the toll booth must be connected to the grounding grid at multiple points
  • The spacing between tunnel grounding trunk lines is ≤200m, and the grounding resistance at the tunnel entrance is ≤4Ω
  • The size of the M-type equipotential grid is required to be 600mm×600mm

Technology evolution analysis

The main upgrades of this standard compared with QX/T190-2013:

  1. Added special requirements for SPD for photovoltaic systems (referenced GB/T18802.31)
