Standard Framework and Technology Evolution

This standard was proposed by China Light Industry Federation, managed by National Furniture Standardization Technical Committee, and jointly drafted by 10 units including Jiangsu Quality Inspection Institute and Federal Furniture. As a basic standard for the furniture industry, it systematically standardized the terminology systems of seven major schools such as Ming-style furniture and Qing-style furniture for the first time, filling the gap in terminology standards in the field of traditional furniture.

1. When repairing antique furniture, the damage description should be strictly referred to the structural component terminology (Chapter 4)
2. When designing innovative products, it is recommended to combine the pattern terminology (Chapter 7) to maintain cultural continuity
3. In teaching and research, it is recommended to use the mortise and tenon structure diagram (Appendix B) as the standard diagram

Technology evolution analysis

This standard for the first time incorporates local crafts such as floating shoulder tenon (5.29) and hanging pin through tenon (5.38) into the national standard system, reflecting the protective inclusion of traditional crafts. In the technical terminology section, wax decoration technology is innovatively separated into a separate chapter (Chapter 6.5), reflecting the contemporary emphasis on traditional surface treatment technology.
