《GB/T 37884-2019涂料中挥发性有机化合物(VOC)释放量的测定》由TC5(全国涂料和颜料标准化技术委员会)归口,TC5SC1(全国涂料和颜料标准化技术委员会基础分会)执行,主管部门为中国石油和化学工业联合会。
Introduction
Analysis of the core content of the standard
This standard specifies a complete technical system for measuring VOC emissions in coatings using an environmental test chamber, including term definitions, test principles, instrument requirements, sampling specifications and data processing methods.
Comparison of key technical parameters
| Test items | Standard requirements | Allowance deviation |
|---|---|---|
| Cabin temperature | 23±2℃ | ±1℃ |
| Relative humidity | 50%±5% | ±3% |
| TVOC background concentration | ≤50μg/m³ | — |
Details of the test process
1. Specimen preparation
Use lead-free flat glass as the substrate, and prepare the coating sample at a load ratio of 1.0m²/m³. The curing time is divided into the following according to the type of coating:
- Water-based coating: 24±0.5h
- Solvent-based coating: 168±2h
2. Cabin pretreatment
Before the test, the cabin needs to be cleaned with a pH neutral detergent and purified at a high temperature of 300℃ to ensure that the background concentration meets the standard.
3. Sampling and analysis
Gas was collected using Tenax TA adsorption tubes and analyzed using a thermal desorption-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry system. Key parameters:
- Desorption temperature: 280-300℃
- Polarity index of chromatographic column: <10
- Detection limit: 0.005mg/m³ (toluene)
Implementation suggestions
Key points of quality control
- Relative deviation of parallel tests should be <15%
- Correlation coefficient of standard curve R²≥0.995
- Toluene recovery rate≥80%
Troubleshooting
When detecting high boiling point compounds, it is recommended to:
- Use mixed adsorbent
- Extend desorption time to 20min
- Increase transfer line temperature to 320℃
Standard Evolution Analysis
The main improvements of this standard compared with the previous version:
- Add mass spectrometer as a confirmation method
- Refine the material/chamber load ratio calculation formula
- Supplement special parameters for 60L test chamber
