GB/T 37896—2019 "Lightweight Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Laminated Glass" is China's first standard specifically for lightweight crystalline silicon photovoltaic laminated glass, suitable for buildings, awnings, carports, roofs, and ground and water power stations.

2. Background of Standard Formulation

With the development of photovoltaic technology, lightweight crystalline silicon photovoltaic laminated glass has attracted widespread attention due to its high efficiency and safety. The standard was proposed by the China Building Materials Federation and jointly drafted by a number of companies, aiming to unify industry specifications and improve product quality.

3. Material requirements and performance specifications

Material selection

Glass:Lightweight physically tempered glass, with a thickness range of 1.6mm, 2.0mm and 2.5mm.

Cells:Single-sided or double-sided crystalline silicon cells, suitable for different power generation needs.

Intermediate layer:EVA, PVB or POE film, which must comply with GB/T 29848 and JG/T 449 standards.

Performance indicators

  • Dimensional deviation:Length, width ±2mm, thickness ±1mm, diagonal ±4mm.
  • Curvature:Frameless glass bow curvature ≤0.3%, wave curvature ≤0.2%.
  • Fire rating:A and B have strict requirements to ensure structural stability at high temperatures.

4. Test methods and inspection rules

Key test items

  • Dimensional deviation:According to JG/T 482—2015, at least three measurements.
  • Bending:GB/T 29551 requires testing under specific temperature and humidity conditions.
  • Fire test:Grade A or B of UL 1703 standard.

Inspection rules

Type inspection includes all technical performance, and factory inspection covers appearance, maximum power, insulation and ground continuity tests. The sampling method is agreed upon by both the supply and demand parties to ensure the quality of batch products.

Selection and Application

  • Building Integration:Preferably select frameless, double-sided cell glass to adapt to complex installation environments.
  • Power Station Application:Recommend using framed structures to improve durability and safety.

Construction Precautions

During construction, packaging, transportation and storage should be carried out in strict accordance with standard requirements to avoid scratches on the glass surface. After installation, insulation and fire resistance performance must be re-inspected to ensure compliance with specifications.
