Background of Standard Formulation and Analysis of Technological Evolution
With the rapid development of the earth-moving machinery industry, ultra-large hydraulic excavators are increasingly used in mining, construction and other fields. In order to ensure the safety, reliability and environmental protection of the equipment, GB/T 37899—2019 came into being. This standard replaces the old version of the standard and comprehensively regulates the classification, requirements, test methods and inspection rules of ultra-large hydraulic excavators in combination with international advanced technologies.

Standard framework comparison and technical requirements
General requirements: The excavator should be able to operate normally under ambient temperature of $-15^\circ C \sim 40^\circ C$ and at an altitude not higher than $2000~m$. The appearance quality of the paint shall comply with the provisions of JB/T5946, and the external power supply of the motor-driven excavator shall comply with GB5226.3.
Hydraulic system requirements: The solid particle pollution level of the hydraulic system oil shall not exceed GB/T14039-2002-/18/15. The installation of hydraulic components shall be easy to maintain, and necessary pressure measurement points and exhaust points shall be set.
Electrical system requirements: All electrical circuits shall be equipped with circuit breaker protection devices, and the protection level shall not be lower than IP65 (according to GB/T 4208). The insulation level of the motor shall not be lower than Class F, and the shell grounding resistance shall not be greater than $0.1~\Omega$.
Safety requirements: The stability of the excavator shall comply with the provisions of 4.6.2 in GB 25684.5-2010. The noise at the driver's position shall comply with the provisions of GB16710, and the electromagnetic compatibility shall comply with GB/T 22359.
Implementation Suggestions
- Manufacturers: Design and produce in strict accordance with standard requirements to ensure that all technical indicators meet the standards. Strengthen employee training and improve quality awareness.
- Users: Read the product manual carefully and operate and maintain the equipment according to the specifications. Regularly check key components such as hydraulic systems and electrical systems to ensure long-term stable operation of the equipment.
- Testing agencies: Establish a complete testing system and conduct inspections in strict accordance with standards. Provide timely feedback to manufacturers on products that do not meet the requirements and urge them to make corrections.
