Scope

This standard is used to determine the bitumen content in montan wax. The asphalt in montan wax refers to that part of the material that is insoluble in isopropanol when the montan wax is extracted with isopropanol solvent in a boiling state at 760mmHg. Main points of the method: mix the montan wax sample and quartz sand evenly, put it into a filter paper cylinder and place it in an extractor, heat and reflux it with isopropanol on a water bath for extraction, then remove the solvent, and bake to constant weight. Subtract the weight of the extract from the weight of the sample, and the difference is the measured value of the asphalt content in the montan wax (expressed in weight percent). Then according to the air pressure (or altitude) of the measuring location, use a certain calculation formula to convert it to the content equivalent to when the air pressure is 760mmHg (or the altitude is zero).
