Plastics — Recycled polypropylene compound

1 Scope

This standard specifies the classification, designation, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking and accompanying documents, packaging, transportation and storage of recycled polypropylene compound.

This standard is applicable to the polypropylene materials which have been recycled and modified from industrial products and daily necessities.

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

polypropylene recycled material
polypropylene material recycled by mechanical regeneration operation

recycled polypropylene compound
recycled compound with uniform appearance and performance is obtained by filling, blending and alloying, with polypropylene recycled material as the main component and other resins or the additives which can improve the mechanical, rheological, flammability, service life, thermal and color properties of polypropylene recycled material as auxiliary components

4 Classification and designation

4.1 General provisions

Classification and designation of recycled polypropylene compound are based on the following standard modes:

The designation consists of four character sets representing characteristic project team:

Character set 1: code of recycled polypropylene (see 4.2);

Character set 2: source information of polypropylene recycled materials (see 4.3);

Character set 3: content of polypropylene recycled materials (see 4.4);

Character set 4: modified technical characteristics of recycled polypropylene compound (see 4.5);

Character sets are separated by ",".

If a character set is not applied, it shall be separated by double commas “, ,”.

4.2 Character set 1

According to the requirements of GB/T 1844.1-2008, the code of recycled polypropylene is "PP-RC".

4.3 Character set 2

Polypropylene recycled materials have different sources, and each source is represented by a digital code composed of numbers. See Table 1.
